I do not know why the reviews for this professor are so harsh. She explains the concepts well and makes sure you understand the topics. She offers an extra credit quiz to boost your score up as well. Just attend the lectures and pay attention and you are guaranteed an A. The only problem is that you have to do well on EVERY test to get an A.ECON1116 2017-06-29 20:48:05 +0000 UTC
She is tough grader. Also, she is too strict like most Asian-Americans. Don't take her class!ECON 2015-02-11 17:21:24 +0000 UTC
She's truly the best. I took macro class and micro recitation class with her, she explains concepts very well and without any complications, she's very helpful & kind. After taking classes with her I really loved economics and now I'm considering minoring in it. If she teaches any other classes I'll not hesitate to take it with her & so should you!ECON1115 2014-06-23 23:45:39 +0000 UTC
I still have nightmares of this course. We were going to the best professor offered, then suddenly, NU pulls a bait & switch, leaving us with Nehan(correct spelling) Naim...When I could understand what she was saying (~70% of the time), it was convoluted and/or as if she was reading from a econ. business journal..w/e it was, it sure wasn't teachingECON2315 2013-10-01 20:12:31 +0000 UTC
You can tell that she is knowledgable of economics, but this is probably her only plus, not to mention one that is required of any teacher. She lacks the interpersonal and overall teaching skills to foster hardly an in-class learning; she talks AT you instead of to you. She is an unreasonably hard grader - only she would do well on her tests.MICROECON 2012-10-26 01:29:53 +0000 UTC
The professor clearly knew what she was talking about, but didn't communicate the information well at all; the textbook explained concepts better. The first test was decent, but she became a lot pickier in what she deemed to be a 'good answer' for the second test and final. The final exam mean was in the 50s, luckily she curved the grades.ECON1116 2012-05-08 22:10:44 +0000 UTC
what she taught was pretty helpful and her notes is really specific, but she didnt make students understand the concepts well. And the tests are very hard. And I think she might have a discrimination between native and international.ECON2315 2012-05-14 16:09:18 +0000 UTC
she knows the concept very clearly, but she just gives these concepts hardly with any explanation. She spent most of the time concentrating on calculation stuff while you can hardly see any calculation questions even a number during the exam. Tough grader also, never curve the grade. If you really wanna go to hell, then take it!ECON2315 2012-05-04 01:07:59 +0000 UTC
Took her for Macroeconomics theory. It was her first semester teaching, hard grader and she know the concepts clearly, but her class is just throwing knowledge to the students, you can't understand anything in the class, unless you read the textbook. Don't take this class, she never curves the grade and give us pop up quizzes.ECON2315 2012-04-30 01:02:27 +0000 UTC
