Had Stenberg for Orgo 1, and it was a terrible experience. While she may be nice, her teaching is sub-par. She never leaves her notes on the board for more than a minute, so if you don't copy reactions fast you're seriously in trouble. I was able to pass after hours of studying but her teaching made hard class unnecessarily harder.CHEM2312 2013-11-18 13:04:23 +0000 UTC
She's very nice and forgiving when it comes to her exams because she makes them difficult on purpose (although, it doesn't make much of a difference when her curve will change too if she decides to give you points back). She's very passionate about what she teaches (STUDY THE RXNS!). However, she's sometimes unorganized in her lecture material.CHEM2313 2012-08-06 21:44:57 +0000 UTC
she makes a C the average, so if you are content with getting a C by all means take her class. makes a curve by rising the bottom grades (ie you can pass with a 40 but you still need a 90 for an A) she is a helpful and caring teacher but getting a B or higher is VERY difficult no matter how many hours you studyCHEM2311 2011-11-10 19:46:50 +0000 UTC
Her looks may be ravishing and she seems really confident with the material; but her teaching just isn't on par. Her diagrams are unclear, and are erased only minutes after they've been put up. Even if you do every single problem in the book, she always seems to give out much harder ones on the test including material that isn't in the book.ORGOC12 2010-11-07 10:34:25 +0000 UTC
Professor Stenberg is a sweetheart. Exams are a little tricky and you do need to pay attention in class (she moves fast!), but she is a fair grader and really cares about her students. Go to office hours and read the book! Prof. Stenberg makes you want to love Organic, and despite some absence-related shenanigans the class was overall a real joy.CHEM2312 2013-04-13 17:50:00 +0000 UTC
Lectures were often straight forward and fairly easy to follow although she did go a little fast at times. First exam was crazy easy but next 2 were pretty hard, final was OK. Follows the book pretty well and exams aren't insane like Warner's. Still grades on a curve though, I'd say Stenberg over Warner any day.CHEM2313 2011-05-05 04:04:30 +0000 UTC
Very fair teacher and truly makes an effort to help her students (office hours, review sessions). Had her for Orgo 1 and now 2. Keeps you interested by telling funny stories from her undergrad and grad years, as well as briefly talking about real life applications for the material. I would recommend her.CHEM2313 2011-04-14 14:39:35 +0000 UTC
