Professor Pichler was great but with a full time work and tons on quizzes, homework & tests it was a lot for part time students. She is tough grader and does not give points even if you do some partial work on your exams. Overall, a course that is needed to graduate so need to take it.FIN201 2023-05-23 20:48:53 +0000 UTC
Dont be fooled by the serious personality... If you study you can 100% get an A. read the lecture notes and take the practice quizzes. Easy A if you do both. PHD in economic engineering from Stanford... its worth paying attnention because she actually teaches a lot of interesting topics in addition to what will be on tests.FINA3303 2018-06-30 01:11:55 +0000 UTC
I really enjoyed Professor Pichler. She knows what she's talking about and has a passion for finance. The nature of the material can be difficult for some people, but her tests are fair and you can definitely do well on them if you go to class and study. She posts outlines online (print them!) for notes before every class which make studying easierFINA2201 2017-02-18 11:59:04 +0000 UTC
Classes move extremely fast, if you miss one class you're pretty much done if you can't get the notes from someone. Tries to be helpful. Exams are EXTREMELY hard and almost impossible to prepare for, allows 1 index card for equations but you never know which chapter she's going to focus on. Very professional but hard to approach.FINA3313 2012-04-03 14:34:05 +0000 UTC
The best professor I have ever met at Northeastern. She is very nice to everyone. You could just stop by her office and ask her question. She would explain to you fluently. Even though she was ready to go. And basically she would response her e-mail pretty quick.FINA202 2011-01-11 16:28:37 +0000 UTC
she teaches in a very very clear way. Tests are very alike to the practice tests she gave you before the exam. Cornell PHD and that explains why she could teach in a crystal wayFINA201 2010-05-21 17:00:21 +0000 UTC
Her tests are hard but she tries to help you out as much as possible. Study the practice exams and you'll do fine.FIN201 2009-03-22 15:55:33 +0000 UTC
I don't know what are those students complaining about. She is an amazing professor. You don't have to memorize anything. Just do classes' materials in classes and at home. I got good grades in her class without many efforts.FINA3303 2017-07-26 09:26:16 +0000 UTC
Pichler is my favorite professor so far. She makes an effort to know everybody. The environment of her classroom is very friendly and she gets everybody involved in class discussions. It's important to go to class because it is the only way to get the answers to lecture notes. She gives practice tests that are almost identical to the actual testFINA2201 2016-04-13 17:28:35 +0000 UTC
Tests are very hard and almost unpassable, loves to ask trick questionsFINA3303 2017-05-04 21:56:48 +0000 UTC
The content is super hard. She's a Stanford PhD. graduate so she knows her stuff. She makes you work for the grade, and it won't come easily. She can do a better job explaining because she expects students to have somewhat of previous knowledge. When the class gets harder in the semester, that's when the difference b/w those who have do better.FINA2201 2016-04-12 12:26:40 +0000 UTC
Pichler the Stickler. Pegaret is a very high quality professor who will teach you the material and then some. If you can handle participation you'll have a good time answering questions and learning in a very interactive environment. However, she has rigid grading criteria, is strict with pretty much everything in her class, and sticks to the rulesFINA3303 2017-04-03 15:41:16 +0000 UTC
Classic Northeastern Business school teacher. Godawful. Knows her stuff but is terrible at explaining it. Thrives on making students feel inferiorFINA2201 2013-11-19 15:06:31 +0000 UTC
Attendance mandatory and checked daily - will affect overall grade if you skip. 3 exams make up 70% of grade - very difficult exams (given very little guidance of what is needed to know, as well as cumulative final). Professor is very intimidating and can be very degrading at times.FINA3303 2011-04-24 18:50:02 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Very clear and knows what she's talking about. Practice exams help you in your real exams, because it's similar. Aplia hwk is annoying and there are a lot of problems, but it'll help you learn.FINA2201 2010-12-17 02:32:28 +0000 UTC
