Felt like he really cared about the learning, really unstructured in a good way. allowed everyone to get what tehy wanted out of teh class.ECON3425 2025-02-25 21:12:47 +0000 UTC
Professor Hanser is a nice guy who clearly cares about stats. However, he isn't the best at teaching students and expects you to learn a whole coding language on your own. I was lost for much of the class but still managed to get a good grade.ECON2350 2022-03-29 20:47:48 +0000 UTC
Hanser has had an extremely accomplished and experienced career in Energy economics. The class itself was a bit useless, as he makes students present the topics. But, anytime he speaks to correct an issue or add an anecdotal example, it was simply brilliant. Grading was based on two things, your presentation and a 10 page long research paper.ECON3425 2025-01-10 08:46:52 +0000 UTC
Doesn't really care about grades and rather if you know the content. It is a very unorganized class with one midterm on the syllabus not taking place and a rushed group project. Classes are him facilitating students teaching others where he would create groups and have them present in class. It is an easy class but just needs a lot of self-teachingECON2350 2022-03-28 19:56:59 +0000 UTC
HE really teach nothing, im totally confused about the syllabus and test policy. On the syllabus there are going to be 2 midterms, but he only gives one.ECON2350 2021-12-02 22:07:46 +0000 UTC
I was so confused during this class. He makes you use r coding for the entire course, which is really hard if you don't have any prior knowledge on it cause he never really explains how to use it. He doesn't teach you any material, he just makes the students teach the homework problems to the class which sucks cause no one knows what they're doing.ECON2350 2021-10-26 22:21:41 +0000 UTC
This man makes us code but barely explains how to use RStudio. When we ask him how we are supposed to do this when he won't explain how to use the program, he just says to struggle with it and email him with questions. He doesn't explain the homework problems, he makes other kids present them which takes forever and wastes all the class time.ECON2350 2021-09-21 18:33:27 +0000 UTC
I had Hanser for stats and was confused literally the entire time. Everyone I talked to was just as lost. He uses R coding for a lot of the class, but didn't teach it at all so when we had to code on the midterm we had no idea how because he literally didn't teach us. The grade is based on 1 quiz, midterm, final, participation, and a few homeworks.ECON2350 2020-12-04 17:22:49 +0000 UTC
