Most of your grade is made up by homework so as long as you do that you have an automatic A in the class. Three tests, each 10% each, and if you do the chapter review questions before the exam you're golden. The tests are super easy, so nothing to stress about. I took econ 2316 with him before and econ4691 information economics and game theory this semester but it was not on the list. Professor Piao was very helpful during office hours and was extremely generous on grading exams. Like, he only took 1 point out of 5 even you got more than half of your answers wrong. Professor Piao was amazing for Macro during Summer 1. Ton of work; however, he gave time to do so. Unlimited attempts on most of the Macmillan assignments. Lots of mini projects and sometimes the peer reviews would not pop up until last minute, likely due to errors from Canvas. Dr. Piao is simply an incredible professor. His slides are gorgeous, he's a good lecturer, a fair grader, and he's very understanding. He teaches at a reasonable pace and will always make his grading criteria very clear. He'll also go over tests with you in great detail if you go to office hours. take micro with him. no final and you only have 3 tests (which altogether still count less than the homework assignments). He assigns a lot of work but its pretty easy to get done so most people will have 98-100% in homework assignment grades which will save your grade for any score on the exams. Professor Piao is a great guy who clearly cares deeply about his work. The amount of effort he puts in his slideshows are crazy and his lectures are straightforward and easy to follow.
