The lectures are rather pointless to attend since he barely even talks about the course material. He primarily discusses the economics of current events, which can teach some of the concepts, but typically do not line up with what the textbook is describing. Horrible. Lectures are pointless to attend. He assigns work without giving you adequate information to complete the assignments. He grades tough yet does not provide you with any feedback. Professor Pritchard seems like a very nice person, but he is the worst professor I've had at Northeastern. He gives all of the questions that could be on the tests,but he's consistently not prepared for lecture and when he is he fails to present material in a clear manner. Don't take if you dont have a solid background in economics. Don't go to lecture as he just talks about random events. Go to recitation. Do aplia hw (easy if you already know some econ). 1 research paper, easy A if you do some research. Knowledgeable about the subject and definitely wants students to get most out of class. However, Bob is excessively smug about any successful investment he made (Qualcomm), excessively vague regarding paper prompts, and excessively unorganized with his class time. Easily one of the best ECON teachers I have had. Doesnt use the book at all, but loves the subject. Although not always on topic, I feel like I learned the most in classes where we had random discussions on current economic issues. Tests and projects are all straight forward and hes a fair grader. Confusing. Doesn't really teach with the book, just talks about the first economic concepts that pop into his head. You have to pay attention though, because some of the stuff he mentions is on the test but not in the book. The paper is annoying, but he grades pretty easy. Ridiculously slow at grading things. Be aware that 'Principles of Macro' is really 'Keynesian Econ.' As someone whose scorn for Keynes knows no bounds, my Austrian-school philosophical bend saw me suffer on short-answer test questions.
