Professor li LOVES economics (perhaps a little too much), which is what makes his lectures long/boring. Attendance isn't as mandatory as you think, and people end up not showing up after the first two weeks. content is memorization however if you study enough it's an easy A. u do have to pay125 for a textbook that you will most likely never readECON-1115 2026-01-05 05:29:59 +0000 UTC
Lectures boring asf. However, I stopped going to class and did well (attendance 10%). Midterms I and II are 60 MC and if you perform poorly on a midterm, he will drop it and replace it with your homework score, which is a guaranteed A. Also, there's group project that he'll pre-grade and tell you exactly what to change to gain a higher score.econ1116 2025-12-03 03:41:49 +0000 UTC
he was very unorganized and had lecture-heavy classes that weren't engaging or helpful. He also put a lot of content on the midterms and finals that we either barely learned or didn't learn at all throughout the semester and didn't have a clear grading criteria.ECON-1115 2025-12-15 14:36:33 +0000 UTC
Needs improvement.econ1116 2025-11-27 17:29:59 +0000 UTC
Seamus is very knowledgeable but lectures bad. I learned most of the course from the textbook and taking notes. He usually shows up ~5 mins late, then takes another two to set up. He's really nice though! His grades and rubrics are very clear and his feedback on the project is clear and thorough. Drops one of three: midterm i, midterm ii, hw grade.ECON-1115 2025-12-10 04:56:25 +0000 UTC
Great guy, not a great lecturer. If you have not studied economics and are trying to take an entry-level econ course, you will most likely have a tough time. His class consists of hour-and-a-half-long lectures with little engagement with the class. It's kind of like he's too smart to be teaching a principles course. Overall, pretty difficult.econ1116 2025-11-19 23:48:11 +0000 UTC
