Chesire is a good guy doesnt teach well. Towards the end, it was painful to sit in the class and basically no one went because it was impossible to learn from his lectures anyways. Cheshire is a bad teacher, he goes on many unrelated tangents and is not the best at explaining material. By the end of the semester much of the class stopped showing up. Cheshire is lost without the slides he puts up every class. For our last midterm, he switched from an 1.5 hour exam with 30 questions to a 30 minute exam with 10 questions because he didn't know about certain university rules for exams given after Thanksgiving break. Dr. Cheshire's lectures were very boring and difficult to understand. I mainly used the time to do the homework, which many times also didn't align with the material in the lecture slides. He is very smart, but it overcomplicated his answers to questions. He isn't great at lecturing, and he sometimes seemed unprepared. The homework didn't always align with the material (likely a product of it being his first year). He is accommodating. Cheshire can't explain concepts to his students. He may understand chemistry, but he is unable to articulate his ideas. Students teach themselves most of the content; his lectures are not at all helpful in understanding the material. He is a very nice person and is very caring. However, his lectures barely taught me anything. He would go on tangents about random things and most of the time it would have no correlation to what we were supposed to be learning. He is kind and nice, but he doesn't have ability to explain concept and don't even give a single example of solving the problems. All the things that he does is just reading off from the slides. As a person, he's kind and knows chemistry. But that's where the good end. His lectures are dull and without his slides he is aimless. He does a bad job at explaining concepts, often just giving the "just because" explanation, and has a hard time answering questions.
