This class is very well organized, it is a tough class because of the labs. You will be spending hours on the labs, but consi and the TAs are there to help and Dr. Consi ensures that there is enough time for you to finish the lab. The final and midterm were very easy and fair exams, there is nothing to complain about them.EECE2160 2025-12-16 05:31:03 +0000 UTC
I took EECE 2160 (but that wasn't an option to select) with him, and he was great! Super kind and easy to communicate with if I needed an extension or was out of class. Lectures are a bit boring, and you may need to do some review on your own time, but the material isn't too difficult, and homework assignments and exams were fairly easy as well.EECE2150 2024-12-16 01:15:24 +0000 UTC
I recently had the pleasure of taking Robot Sensing and Navigation with Professor Thomas Consi. He was an incredible professor and he is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the material he teaches. He is always willing to go above and beyond to make sure his students understand the material and excel in the course.EECE5554 2023-02-24 21:30:51 +0000 UTC
Thom says some really dry jokes. It is entertaining. I have taken his online courses with Linear Systems (online, ass) and Digital Design. His presentations, at times, may leave a newcomer confused at what they are learning. However, his lectures always have basis in life and are effective. Homework and exams are easy. Just go talk to him.EECE2530 2022-11-08 03:32:47 +0000 UTC
This university needs more professors like Consi. His lectures might be kinda boring, but he includes everything relevant you need to know in them and the midterm/final was literally coloring in the lines simulator, there wasn't a single grade below an A. Highly recommend him even if you aren't taking 2160 with him.EECE2160 2025-12-15 22:08:07 +0000 UTC
I spent most of my hours doing work and extracurricular study for this class and I just scraped by. He literally read the slides from the lecture (which was not beneficial for my learning style) and was extremely unengaging and monotonous. He graded stuff extremely late on top of all of this, so I had little knowledge of my grade the whole time.EECE2150 2020-12-21 03:02:31 +0000 UTC
You can surely learn a lot of things, but becareful it may have risks getting a B.EECE5554 2023-01-10 13:13:16 +0000 UTC
Great guy. EZ examsEECE2530 2022-09-22 01:57:03 +0000 UTC
consi was such an easy grader. technically attendance is mandatory, but he is so chill about it. he's great at explaining if youre confused. slides are lowk boring and not the most organized thoughEECE2160 2025-12-08 20:33:35 +0000 UTC
His lectures for my circuits class were ultimately ineffective. This was due to a variety of factors, some of them not his fault. It was his first time teaching at northeastern AND it is online. Spent hours of classtime fixing video or audio bugs. When there werent issues, he read the math off of the slides without providing much insight.EECE2150 2020-12-02 19:20:17 +0000 UTC
He was very helpful during class as most assignments where labs and he would help anyone stuck in lab. Generally very respectful towards his students and his class was taught in an entertaining and enjoyable manner.EECE2160 2025-10-12 00:54:49 +0000 UTC
Good professor, teaches a lot of new concepts during class, some of which is not relevant to course materials but is interesting nevertheless. Covers additional information like history, use cases, etc that isn't necessary for quizzes. Lectures are mandatory, the slides contain tons of information that will be tested on weekly quizzes.EECE2160 2025-08-05 14:59:01 +0000 UTC
Great teacher who genuinely cares about teaching his students. Tests are not bad because he actually teaches you and the content is similar to the material that you learn. Labs are kind of hard but he'll help you get through them and is quick to extend due dates as he believes it's more important to understand the content than to rush/cheatEECE2160 2025-03-12 04:52:20 +0000 UTC
Consi is a super chill and nice professor. The course material is pretty easy, but everything is taught well with maybe the exception of the programming section (but that's just true of most ECE dept. profs).EECE2160 2024-12-16 03:50:40 +0000 UTC
