I took his current topics class and it was my favorite class I have taken at Northeastern. He was an INCREDIBLE teacher. Super enthusiastic, great at explaining complex topics, super kind and understanding when answering questions. 3 exams, challenging but very fair. He would often give points back if a lot of people got them wrong.BIOL3411 2025-12-13 04:16:45 +0000 UTC
Duerr is incredibly passionate about regeneration, though teaching is evidently not his area of expertise, at least not yet as a postdoc. He teaches at an accelerated pace, and lectures can oftentimes be difficult to follow - owing to the specificity of his research. He is an amicable person outside of class though and is always willing to help.BIOL2299-Regene 2023-12-01 19:32:23 +0000 UTC
This class was great! You read papers, present a poster, and listen to lectures that help you become well-versed in limb regeneration. Prof. Duerr is genuinely one of the nicest professors I've had at Northeastern - his exams are fair, he's accessible outside of class, and he truly cares about student understanding! Plus, axolotls are super cool :)BIOL3411 2025-12-03 23:53:37 +0000 UTC
