very passionate about what she teaches, learned a lot. you definitely get out of the class what you put into it, so you should read the papers if you want to do well and try to understand what's going on. would recommend asking questions and studying in groups! quizzes are take-home.BIOL2299 2025-12-14 03:16:18 +0000 UTC
She is one of the nicest professors I've had this semester! The papers we read were pretty difficult but she provided diagrams and thorough explanations that clearly answered any uncertainties I had. Definitely come to class --> her slides makes the most sense when attending her lecture.BIO2299 2025-12-05 03:04:07 +0000 UTC
Professor Day is very knowledgeable in her field and genuinely cares about the content she teaches. The course is based off research articles that are broken down and analyzed during lectures. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in gene editing or the biotech industry.BIOL5539 2025-05-02 21:12:29 +0000 UTC
Only HW was to read 1 research paper each weekend (which to be fair were long) but by no means hard to do. Attendance is not mandatory, but its best to go because the only way you are understanding the papers is by listening to her lecture about it. Given her experience in the field, her lectures are amazing and worth it! Quizzes are all take home.BIOL2299 2025-12-12 00:32:34 +0000 UTC
I took her Genome Editing class and it was an amazing experience. I didn't know much about it before class, but Tovah is extremely passionate in her teaching and made the lectures enjoyable and informative. There were projects, group work, and guest lecturers, so class wasn't the same all the time. Highly recommendBIO2299 2022-01-13 03:35:46 +0000 UTC
Great prof, really cares about the material. Attend lectures IN PERSON every time and you will be fine (if you don't she's harsher on you with grading, ask me how I know :/ ). Course isn't too much work just a lot of reading and she does a great job of breaking down the readings to help you understand the research papers she assignsBIOL2299 2022-06-28 20:08:59 +0000 UTC
Dr. Day taught Genome Editing for her first time this past semester, and she has inspired me to look further into the field for a career. Her class was interesting, and she is an amazing person. Be ready to read a lot and participate, but overall her class was enjoyable and one of my favorite courses thus far!BIO2299 2020-08-09 17:42:17 +0000 UTC
Prof. Day is super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about genome editing. I learned a lot in this course, and the poster project "final" was a lot of fun. Weekly quizzes were pretty difficult but beyond that the workload wasn't too crazy. Definitely would recommend this course!BIOL2299 2022-05-13 03:12:06 +0000 UTC
Dr. Day is an incredible professor. Her inquiries class is very interesting and specific, and I honestly think she could make anyone interested in genome editing. The class is very paper heavy and the papers are dense, but she is open to questions and does an amazing job walking you through tough contents. Wish I could take another class with her.BIOL2299 2021-12-06 21:00:33 +0000 UTC
Prof Day was an amazing professor and I loved her inquires class. It was a reading heavy class, but the papers were all very interesting and she really teaches you how to understand scientific literature. I would recommend her class to anyone - also an easy A if you put in the work, and you learn a lot.BIOL2299 2021-02-03 15:05:42 +0000 UTC
Dr Day is such an amazing professor! I would take any class she taught. In her Genome Editing class, we did a lot of hard readings, but learned SO much from them and she helped us through tough concepts.BIOL2299 2020-05-04 22:44:40 +0000 UTC
