Professor Liu was very good at explaining concepts and welcomed questions both in and outside of class. She spends a lot of time on slides (we do practice problems after every chapter too) but overall matches my learning style well.FINA2201 2023-12-07 19:08:35 +0000 UTC
I struggled in this class a lot. Finance and anything math-related is something I'll struggle with no matter what. However, Professor Liu was always kind and available outside of class. Despite doing poorly in the class, I recommend her as a professor.FINA2201 2023-11-13 02:47:54 +0000 UTC
Professor Liu is pretty good. She made the class content way easier than it seems in the textbook (which you have to get b/c it's connected to the HW). She spends a little too much time reviewing past lectures and announcements at the beginning of class, but we almost always got out early.FINA2201 2022-12-07 23:41:23 +0000 UTC
Great professor, gives extremely clear presentations, cares about students' success. Very fair grader. Homework is one online assignment per week, with 3 submission attempts (she takes the highest score) Takes 1-2 hours to do each homework, easy 100% grade from that. Tests are not hard at all, just redo homeworks + go thru slides beforehandFINA2201 2022-12-07 14:38:00 +0000 UTC
Wonderful professor! Super nice and teaches the material really well. Regularly hosts office hours that are very beneficial, and responds quickly to emails. Tests mirror the problems solved through in class and in the homework. Make sure to take notes and actually solve through the in-class problems. Overall great professor!FINA2201 2022-03-29 16:39:28 +0000 UTC
Professor Liu is a very good professor, but she definitely caters to a specific learning style. Lectures are very fast-paced and detailed. Tests are a large portion of the grade, but they are generously curved and she does a lot of in-class review beforehand. She's almost always available for help regarding homework and content as well.FINA2201 2021-12-22 15:10:53 +0000 UTC
Probably one of the worst professors I have ever had. She consistently lies about what is going to be on the tests and quizzes. She also gives you questions on those tests and quizzes that you did not go over in class. Along with this she does not fully explain anything she does and sometimes gets her own practice problems wrong.FINA2201 2021-12-16 17:54:35 +0000 UTC
Not a hard professor at all, as long as you pay attention in class, do the homeworks without looking anything up (at least making sure you understand it. go to office hours/TAs if you dont understand anything it is extremely attainable to get an A. PowerPoint focused class, in class problems on Thursdays, dont HAVE to do the readings.FINA2201 2021-12-09 04:54:55 +0000 UTC
Professor Liu taught in-person on powerpoint through the pandemic. Office always open. Appreciate the effort, enjoyed the section.FINA2201 2021-12-08 21:47:32 +0000 UTC
Teaches mainly through PowerPoint, occasionally works out problems on board. Grades from attendance, homework (1 a week), two midterms, and final. Tests are challenging: multiple choice with no partial credit. Recc: Learn with slides, review with homeworks. Textbook confusing and useless. A lot of material covered over short period of time.FINA2201 2021-12-06 19:28:41 +0000 UTC
