One of the best economics professors out there. Beyond caring and understanding, and is always willing to put in the extra effort to make the class a great experience.ECON2560 2026-02-11 19:24:32 +0000 UTC
Very helpful outside class especially during office hours. She provides enough materials such as practice problems for each topic and practice exams that are relevant to the exam so you can be well prepared. She makes it hard to not do well and wants success for her students. Also she's got a good sense of humor.ECON2350 2025-08-16 17:29:47 +0000 UTC
THIS IS THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!ECON5110 2025-06-09 16:08:12 +0000 UTC
Her lectures r insanely hard to followECON2316 2025-06-04 17:39:21 +0000 UTC
Super helpful professor and very knowledgeable about her work. She wants you to succeed, evident by the in class prep and recordings being available for each class. She expects you to put in effort and participate but you learn a lot. If you pay attention during class and do the problems you'll be set. She is very helpful if you have questions.ECON2560 2026-01-03 17:46:38 +0000 UTC
Taken over 3 classes with her, highly recommend her for econ classes. She's a good teacher, encourages participation, but will not penalize you if you don't talk at all (me) as long as you show up to class. The way she teaches makes it easy for students to understand, which means you have less to study for exams since you already know it.ECON2350 2025-06-09 17:58:10 +0000 UTC
Professor Shi is very thoughtful and supportive of her students. She posts all course materials on Canvas, including plenty of practice problems and exam study guides. She also records every lecture on Zoom in addition to teaching in person, making it easy to catch up if you miss a class. Highly recommended!ECON5110 2025-04-30 01:50:59 +0000 UTC
Professor Shi is very good; she often interacts with the students in class, memorizes the names of the students by heart, and sometimes has a roll call interaction; such a learning atmosphere is enjoyable. She also posts all the notes and in-class practice with annotations on Canvas. I think Professor Shi is excellent!ECON2316 2023-04-24 16:05:43 +0000 UTC
She is such a kind and fun professor; the classroom environment is amazing and she seems so happy to teach. Such an awesome professor.ECON2560 2025-04-30 01:57:26 +0000 UTC
BEST PROFESSOR!! would recommend.ECON2350 2025-06-09 16:12:42 +0000 UTC
Professor Xiaolin is sweet and always open to answering students questions. However, she is terrible at teaching, has an un-engaging lecture based class which is not structured very well, and you end up learning nothing. Another $7k down the drain for a useless class where I have to memorize all the problems for the exam, and then forget everythingECON2316 2023-04-23 22:14:53 +0000 UTC
Professor Shi is a wonderful professor; she is interested in student success, appreciative of critical thinking, engaged with her students, and flexible to student needs/concerns. Extremely funny as well. Highly recommend! btw, no final exam, just a group research paper, which you can get a lot of help/guidance from her.ECON2560 2024-01-09 19:07:11 +0000 UTC
Great professor! would recommend.ECON2350 2025-06-09 16:10:18 +0000 UTC
Professor Shi has the sweetest soul! She is uper understanding, caring, respectful, and such a good person. We also learned a lot, and the course was challenging but well-organized. Zoom is always an option, so no one would miss content if they couldn't attend class. Plus, every lecture was recorded and easy to access shortly after each class.ECON2316 2023-04-12 20:04:40 +0000 UTC
Very friendly and helpful professor. Grading consists of exams, homework assignments, participation, and a big final paper. It is an easy course but don't slack, she can tell and will be less kind. Most classes are lecture-based. She is not the best lecturer but makes up for it by being available for individual review with every student.ECON2560 2023-12-18 20:16:53 +0000 UTC
