she's a really nice lady but a horrible teacher. the class is hard and the way she presents materials is confusing. sometimes i can't understand her because of her accent. don't take this class.MACRO1 2009-11-09 18:04:23 +0000 UTC
Impossible to understand. When you ask her a question, she doesn't have the communication skills to make things understandable. Either that, or she doesn't really understand what she is teaching very well. She should not be allowed in the classroom!!ECN115 2009-01-03 07:14:48 +0000 UTC
Professor Su was a nice teacher with good intentions. The only problem was that there is a language barrier, so it was hard for her to communicate sometimes. However, she does teach straight from the book through her powerpoints, so if you read the book you'll be fine. Her tests aren't super hard--she usually stresses the important details in classECN111 2008-12-26 21:44:47 +0000 UTC
So far the worst teacher I've ever had. Incomprehensible, and unhelpful. She grades weird, and the only grades in the course are the 2 midterms, the final (40%) and Aplia. She doesn't hold a good grasp on the material, and often messes up on the board or confuses herself. She is a nice lady, but a terrible teacher. The exams are very specific/hard.ECNU115 2008-04-20 22:26:39 +0000 UTC
I took Micro right before this and got an A- so I knew the concepts very well. She literally teaches kids wrong information sometimes. She had to be corrected about 20 times before she got comparative advantage right. That's pretty beginning material in terms of economics and she always got it wrong. Im sorry but she really is bad. Don't take herMACROECON 2007-11-06 11:37:17 +0000 UTC
Really bad English, good luck I took AP econ before.ECON115 2007-11-05 16:09:59 +0000 UTC
Professor Su is such a nice person. She is always on time to class and usually keeps us until the end. Although she teaches directly from a powerpoint, she adds additional activities that don't involve the textbook's powerpoint. She is very knowledgeable about economics and a good teacher, but sometimes her accent makes her hard to understand.ECN115 2008-12-05 17:26:17 +0000 UTC
Not nearly as bad as everyone is making her seem. Yes, she is difficult to understand but you get used to it quickly. The material is easy and there is not much work. Exams are easy and she is lenient with grading. You don't have to go to class. The online homework is easy and comes straight fro m the text. She gives a detailed outline of what willECNU115 2008-03-30 22:33:19 +0000 UTC
one word: AWFUL. teaches straight from powerpoint (to the point where a STUDENT could do it), homework is irrelevant to claswork/exams (and had to pay an extra $30 for subscription to website used), is difficult to understand, puts way too much weight on the three tests she gives the entire semester. TERRIBLE. SWITCH OUT.ECN115 2008-11-17 16:27:42 +0000 UTC
get anyone but her. impossible to understand. reads off of powerpoint slides in class. has trouble answering questions. easily one of the worst teachers i've ever had.ECNU115 2007-12-19 01:31:19 +0000 UTC
leave. change professors. I read her previous reviews and thought I could handle it. Nope. Every class is a waste of time. I figured out that I could skip class (and lose points) and take notes on her powerpoint in 30 minutes and learn more than from her broken English in 100 minutes. Waste of time.ECN115 2007-04-29 17:03:01 +0000 UTC
She's hard to understand due to her accent...class is incredibly boring. Gives you online homework that must be passed in on time, so the system automatically grades it. Gives you two midterms and one final. The exams are not hard. You just have to read the book fairly well, and understand the concepts. She is very keen on specific details.ECNU115 2007-12-09 01:12:52 +0000 UTC
Instead of saying "bonus" points she says "****" points because she blows at speaking English. She is stupid and I don't know how Northeastern hired her or how she ever got her phD and is allowed to teach in the U.S. Her tests are getting harder because her advisor is making her make them harder, and since she doesn't teach they are really hard.ECNU115 2006-11-12 11:51:08 +0000 UTC
She means well but is very obviously not suitable as a professor. Entire class comes from the Aplia notes. Really no point in coming to class if you keep up with the online assignments and print out the notes online. If you do go, prepare to NOT understand what she says.ECNU115 2006-11-09 23:36:06 +0000 UTC
Originally from China. Has only been in the country for a few years. Doesn't have a good grasp on the english language. Very confusing at times. Teaches right out of the book. Going to class isn't really that helpful because she posts her notes online and reading the book is just as helpful. Her inability to communicate kind of ruins the class.ECNU115 2006-11-02 21:33:28 +0000 UTC
