She is honestly so sweet and her class is super easy. She encourages participation but no one really does and she just takes it. Exams are more difficult than class but you get cheat sheet. Professor Chang failed to utilize class time effectively. Lectures were long and boring. There is a group project that has the most detailed and ridiculous rubric, fogging the actual application of the project. Participation is extremely easy, as is the content. Professor is sweet & I enjoyed her lectures, but if u find them boring u can sit in the back and do other things, she won't care. She's very sweet, so it sucks to write this, but she really can't teach. Anything above memorizable lecture facts, like actual SPSS and technical skills, she cannot teach. Which sucks because SPSS is the entire final exam. I only got through it bc my friend who took the class taught me SPSS instead. Pretty good class. Chiu Chang is a very caring teacher and the class itself is pretty easy. You can bring a 1 page cheat sheet to each exam and the homework assignments are low effort. The simulation project is also easy as long as you follow the instructions and pay attention in class. Chang isn't looking to help students. If you ask her questions her responses are lazy or vague. Exams are difficult but you can prep a one pager to use. SPSS is learnt throughout the sem but if you need help she will send you to IT in the library instead of helping you. I don't know why people give Professor Chang such a low score, yes her lectures can be long and boring at times but it's a super easy class. Professor was caring and thoughtful. She reached out to us individually to make sure we were on track and getting the help needed. Grade: 35% group project (2 parts), 15% participation, 50% exams (3 - non cumulative) Statistics heavy at the end which made it difficult but there are resources to learn. She's super nice and cares about her students but is lacking in being a good lecturer - she goes quite fast and it's difficult to understand her. She also seems confused when answering student's questions sometimes. The course is graded by 3 exams (all of which are fairly easy) and a group project. Lectures are really boring, but participation is important. She doesn't really do much to make sure we understand the material. The marketplace simulation is a large part of the class but she makes no effort to guide us through the process. She's super sweet and kind, and she definitely cares about her students. At the same time, her lectures can be very confusing, especially when it gets to the more technical aspects like with SPSS.
