Cleary knowledgeable about biostats. Gave homework assignments that were graded but allowed multiple attempts & were good practice. Seems unconfident in answering some students questions, skirted around directly answering some ("outside scope of this class"). Wording of questions could be confusing & mattered a lot. But lots of good practice.ENVR2500 2024-04-24 20:27:13 +0000 UTC
She is a good professor and it really isn't difficult to get a good grade if you put in the time to study and understand the material. Her lectures can be long but sometimes she has PollEverywhere participation questions so I would recommend attending her class in person.ENVR1500 2023-01-04 02:32:13 +0000 UTC
This course was very difficult for me to grasp, as there was so much information every lecture, and Professor Herren did not do a great job of ensuring that each concept was understood before moving to other ones that built on it. I Not sure if she or the amount of material on the curriculum were to blame.ENVR2500 2023-11-28 20:42:27 +0000 UTC
She's genuine and passionate. Her class teaches difficult but very critical concepts. I came out of this class with so much knowledge I didn't know I would need. She really utilizes zoom because she understands the student's attendance circumstances. Lectures are posted online.ENVR1500 2022-04-29 01:26:45 +0000 UTC
The professor just reads off the class slides, which are not well formatted, and tries to answer questions but ultimately fails to teach this subject sufficiently. She curves the tests so much bc she expects everyone to fail because the material is not clearly taught. She's not receptive to student help requests or outside circumstances.ENVR2500 2023-05-10 21:50:28 +0000 UTC
I think that Herren is really professional and well put together. Her class is approachable (as it is a 1000 level class) so as long as you participate during lecture and do the homework readings, you will be fine.ENVR1500 2022-04-15 16:55:29 +0000 UTC
This was a really hard class but Professor Herren structured it in a very helpful way! She's great to have in biostats if you pay attention to the hw and lecturesENVR2500 2023-05-05 16:57:40 +0000 UTC
Biostats is a very difficult course, but Dr. Herren is a very good professor and it's clear she wants her students to understand concepts and do well.ENVR2500 2023-05-01 22:57:58 +0000 UTC
Professor Herren is very knowledgable on the subject, BUT if you aren't able to keep up with a fast-placed course I wouldn't recommend biostatistics. Lecture is large and it's difficult to ask questions. Side note: lab isn't related to what's taught in class AT ALL- it's R Programming and you'll only do well if you have a background in programmingENVR2500 2023-03-15 14:43:09 +0000 UTC
