Koen is the best professor I've ever had! I loved his class, the 1 lecture 1 lab a week setup is great. His course challenged me but it was super fun. He's such an interesting guy and his lab assignments deal with real-world problems and solutions across social and environmental sectors. Koen is what Northeastern needs. He cares about his students and views his class as a way to teach students what he learned working in the field, and more as sharing information, not lecturing. He is a great professor that is very knowledgeable on the subject. There are very few assignments for the class which is not my favorite thing. The lectures can get boring but if you take notes you'll do well. Super nice and funny. The course content is really interesting, but can be challenging especially when we learn more about probabilities, statistics, and coding in R.
