Higger was amazing for ML1! All his lectures we're fairly easy to follow, and he's just a really nice prof, really takes the time to help you understand each topic. LOVE THIS GUY had him for recitation, and he was very helpful with breaking down some of the more complicated bits of discrete. Made sure we had all the prep we required before quizzes. Professor Higger is amazing! His lectures are very engaging, and are all live-streamed and saved for future reference. While attendance wasn't tracked, each class had a short assessment due at the end of day. Homework is graded fairly strictly, but isn't difficult if you start early and understand the concepts. Class taken during covid, writing this review 1.5 years removed. His class was amazing. Breakout rooms were required to discuss solutions to problems with others which was insanely awkward since nobody wanted to participate, but his lectures were always engaging, informative, and the homework was relatively straight forward. Super nice guy. Only reason I didn't get an A was because I split screen studied for the final while watching a tv show. He gives study guides that are incredibly similar to the exams, which made studying so nice. Puzzles were worth 6% of our grade and could be really confusing. He is a very nice professor, you can tell he is passionate. It is important to listen to his lectures because his homework depends on it. This man needs a award. he makes the class fun and engaging. although 4400 is a difficult class, he tries so much to make sure everyone is on track and gives so many resources. Professor Higger was a very engaging lecturer, and teaches you pretty much everything you need to know for homework and exams in class. This class can be difficult if you don't have a solid coding background (especially the homeworks), but Prof. Higger's genuine love of teaching and supporting students in their learning really shines through and makes this class worth it. Great professor if you go to the classes and pay attention, but it's a little hard since they're so long. No assignments or tests are dropped (and very little test prep), but he does drop your 4 lowest ICA's (in class attendance).
