super boring lectures, easy course, take for a free Ads4200 2026-01-13 03:56:52 +0000 UTC
The class itself is fairly easy. The lectures are kinda boring as Prof. Yang reads off the slides most of the time. Going into the first lectures, I expected the class to be very interesting based on the material. Grades based on hw, weekly online quizzes and group project.DS4400 2024-12-16 02:39:55 +0000 UTC
She's not bad. Attendance isn't mandatory as class is available on zoom and notes are posted. Homework can be a lot, but she responds promtly to emails. Lecture itself wasn't very interesting but she was helpful during office hours and understanding when an extension is required.DS3000 2024-08-16 22:24:11 +0000 UTC
Lectures were bland. Easy take-home quizzes weekly. Assignments were manageable. Big final group project on any topic you choose. Appreciated that she used a form to match students with similar styles and allowed you to pair with people you know.ds4200 2025-12-19 20:48:14 +0000 UTC
Not that bad but the written exams were kinda weird because they tested you on facts some of the concepts. I learned enough about using sklearn and gradient descents. The class is pretty free if you stay on top of the conceptual stuff. Coding exams were probably easiest. Wouldn't recommend thoughDS4400 2024-03-29 20:55:29 +0000 UTC
Horrendous. Does not care about you or your education. Assignments, although very easy, are unclear and often blatantly missing instruction. Her lectures are horrible, as she silently copies code from her notes zoomed too far in to follow. If you want an easy A without having to go to lecture, take this course before she gets fired.DS3000 2024-04-11 22:31:52 +0000 UTC
Lecture content was a little boring but she found ways to make it interesting and interactive. She gave a lot of examples and content needed to complete the homework successfully.ds4200 2025-12-13 05:19:04 +0000 UTC
DS 4200: Lectures are pretty boring and useless. When she codes she just copies down what she has in her notes, it doesn't seem like she really understands the material she's teaching. She can be helpful if you ask and the homeworks and projects are not difficult.DS4400 2024-03-11 17:40:04 +0000 UTC
Weekly at home quizzes that are extremely easy. The final is a group project that is not too much work. There is a few homework assignments, but they are all fairly simple. Easy for a 4000 level class, lectures are boring and optional and she posts the filled out notebook at the end of the week. Definetly take for easy A.ds4200 2025-11-24 20:06:01 +0000 UTC
The course policy was generally lax, you could do the homeworks and coding exams pretty easily since they were open notes and the coding demonstrations were usually consistent. The written exams are the worse part of the course because it's memorization. It's either a hit or miss and 60% of the grade is exams, projects were cut out of the content.DS4400 2023-12-06 23:33:38 +0000 UTC
She's super sweet, and I think is genuinely interested in the material. It's been pretty easy so far despite being a 4000 level class. The workload is also pretty manageable. There is a group project, but she makes an effort to pair you with people with similar work styles to you if you don't have someone to work with.ds4200 2025-09-30 01:46:03 +0000 UTC
