Professor Roi is an exceptionally humble and knowledgeable instructor. His lectures and notes demonstrate remarkable conceptual depth and clarity, covering each topic with comprehensive detail. The course materials alone are sufficient for solid interview preparation, as they emphasize both theoretical understanding and practical application.DS5220 2025-10-20 17:01:02 +0000 UTC
Project was really cool and he was very chill with the requirements. Very interesting and practical class!!EECE4520 2025-04-28 23:29:27 +0000 UTC
Roi Yehoshua is an excellent instructor who explains concepts clearly, starting from the basics and covering detailed topics. His assignments and projects effectively reinforce learning, and his fair grading rewards effort. For those willing to study, the course is manageable. I'd happily take another class with him!DS5110 2024-12-14 18:12:12 +0000 UTC
I took this course as part of my third semester as it's a core course for msds, the course contents are excellent and helped me get more detailed knowledge on the concepts of unsupervised machine learning, the materials provided covered key math behind the algorithms and I am referring to those materials an year later (2024) post my graduation.DS5230 2024-10-30 11:26:43 +0000 UTC
This professor is horrible, he doesn't care about his students in the slightest. Not only does he not prepare you for the exams at all, he grades them very harshly. Trust me when I say do no take a course with this professor. The only way you could possibly succeed is if you have previously learned the material.EECE2140 2023-10-16 20:26:57 +0000 UTC
Really loved lectures in mathematics behind the algorithms. A big fan of Prof's paper and pen test. He is considerate when it comes to giving grades.DS5220 2025-10-03 20:06:24 +0000 UTC
Dog shit teacher. Teacher skipped the whole first week of class. Often canceled class 5 minutes before class.EECE4520 2023-02-27 23:36:01 +0000 UTC
The professor was clear with his concepts and was always readily available to answer questions. Also, the assignments and exams were based on practical questions.DS5110 2024-12-02 04:01:41 +0000 UTC
Worst professor in terms of teaching and have a high level of difficulty for its exams. Does not curve the grade and most people end up with B+. He never used to attend his office hours and would disregard the question when asked. Horrible experience didn't learn anything and would never take a class under this professor again.DS5230 2022-12-20 18:34:52 +0000 UTC
I really enjoyed Prof. Yehoshua's class, as I felt it did a great job preparing us for writing code in the real world. Assignments were difficult at times, but because it was so heavily emphasized to not only get the code to work but to also write efficient algorithms, I believe I truly improved as a programmer.EECE2140 2023-04-07 19:44:04 +0000 UTC
The materials used by Professor Roi were top notch. If you are interested in learning ML from the mathematical foundation behind the algorithms to implementing them, you would love his classesDS5220 2025-10-03 20:02:11 +0000 UTC
Professor Roi is one of the best instructors I've had! His Introduction to Data Management and Processing (IDMP) class was challenging but rewarding. He makes complex topics like SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling easy to understand and engaging. His clear teaching style and willingness to help students made a huge impact on my skills. Highly recommend!DS5110 2024-11-05 18:22:28 +0000 UTC
His presentation materials are really good. But he is not a good teacher. Mid term and final exams are handwritten (Theoretical questions, Not a practical oriented course). Problem sets (Assignments) are lengthy have less weightage. Most of the grade is from mid terms and final project. His grading is very tough.DS5230 2022-12-13 22:47:51 +0000 UTC
Driest lectures I've ever sat through. He sounds like he does not want to be teaching at all, and he is rarely accessible outside of class. Gives tests on pen and paper and the exams are fairly difficult, so be sure to make good crib sheets. Not a bad guy, just not a good teacher or mentor for his students in the slightest.EECE2140 2022-12-09 21:23:56 +0000 UTC
The lectures by this professor are very insightful! The homework assignments help a lot with understanding the current topics and concepts being taught. Spend a lot of time really understanding each concept in depth to succeed in the course. I really liked the class. It was very enjoyable with a fun project opportunity at the end.DS5220 2025-08-17 19:57:16 +0000 UTC
