Definitely recommend Professor Ryan. She is super nice and accommodating and the course load is manageable if you stay on top of it. There is a weekly hw, quiz, and simulation deadline which is not too bad (some weeks are harder than others). She succeeds in availability outside of class once you contact her, and tries to be accomodating. She is nice and nonchalant as a professor, but her lectures are very monotone. The class environment is disengaged, and I think she could teach better by better commanding the class's attention. Class feels like I'm staring at a wall, though in reality it's my computer that I have to look at bc my psyche can't handle another 20-second pause bw each sentence. Only if classes were 20 minutes long would this have been a good use of my time. Should be 2 credits. Could have learned it all in a few hours. Attendance is mandatory. Participation is not even though it is part of your grade. Project and rare assignments are pretty easy. Read the book and do the practice questions that you can access via blackboard to help you study and ace the exams. Oh Paula, how you love Diet Coke. I love this woman, even though I thought she was a huge weirdo at first. For the most part, this class is easy. The second test is tricky but homework is simple. VERYYYYY Easy! My favorite professor at NU. Knows what she's talking about (she has her own market research business) and loves to help out when you don't understand something. Professor Ryan is a great professor. She makes everything easy to understand by providing real life examples and all the notes on power point slides. If you study the slides and pay attention in class you will ACE the tests. I enjoyed her as a teacher. She is very monotone and her lectures can be boring, however it is very easy to do well in the class. Respect her by just paying attention and not being on your laptop, she will appreciate that greatly. Study for the exam. Spend a lot early in the simulation (whatever you think to spend,triple it).
