Easily one of the most generous and accommodating professors/teachers I have ever had. Always willing to help and answer questions, very respectful and kind. Also explains difficult concepts well and does helpful practice problems. I really like how he applied statistics to COVID testing, as this gives the class some variety. I am in my last semester at Northeastern (Bio degree), and I can say hands-down that Sam Scarpino is the best professor I have had at this school. His class is so engaging, he is so caring, and he genuinely goes out of his way to make everybody feel welcome. This class was one of my favorites at Northeastern. Sam really cares for his students and his test and assignments were straight forward. He was very helpful during office hours.
