He is more well-suited for conducting research instead of instructions. The math algorithms in this course are kind of PhD-level, but he cannot interpret them in an easily understandable way. I was an intern with Dr. Wallace (Byron, as he prefers). He got some really cool insights into the project at hand which made an otherwise obscure topic quite easy to follow. He even replies on weekends if it's urgent and is easily accessible on slack as well as in-person. Byron is a lovable and cheerful professor. Yes, call him Byron and not professor as that's how he prefers it. I actually took him last semester but I wanted to make sure people know he's a good person. Class is only review of homework and textbook and syntax, so going is optional, but do know the quiz days. All homework and everything is online, so it's mainly focusing on the hw. Honestly can't complain. Not his fault that the homework gets annoying at times, it's just the way the class is set up. Knows what he's doing, is happy to help and answer questions, and preps you well for the exams.
