Class wasn't super hard but I swear to god this woman is senile. If you have the option to take Richman instead do, Mara's exams are worded very poorly, she lectures badly, and her TA that she talks down on(who is a very busy PA student, mind you) grades everything for her. She is so real. If you show up and prepare for the exams you'll do well. She was such a kind and honest professor. She was always really engaged and kind when we would have group projects which was the majority of the work. She was always so understanding and her TA was helpful too. Prof. Maras is nice but not a good teacher. Lectures are useless bc she reads directly off the slides which are posted on Canvas. The exams are really specific (lots of memorizing), but you can literally pay no attention in class and study the night before the exam and do well. The lectures were extremely boring. I skipped nearly every class. Study for 5 minutes the day before each of the 3 exams and you will get an A. Ridiculously easy class but very boring. Prof. Maras is a great first-year instructor. I wish I would have understood that the 3 "quizzes" she gives is pretty much your whole grade. 1 midterm project and 1 final project that are only worth half of all the quizzes combined. Favorite class this semester hands down! She is a great and easy professor, normally will end up getting out of class early every day. Quizzes are super easy with a discussion post weekly, a meal plan assignment and a group project for the final. Very little homework outside of class and easy content to understand. Janice was a great professor. Although her lectures were tedious, she asked for feedback, and changed her style to accomodate students. The class is heavily based on a Nutrition Analysis Report, which is tedious but easy. It is also group project driven. She only gave 3 quizzes, which were based on the lectures.
