Really nice prof but bad grading. You will get a 3.5/4 no matter what you do. Your entire grade is determined by the final project and participation. He says attendance is not mandatory but it counts towards participation and if you get a B in that you will get a B overall. Take home chapter (30 pages each) quizzes before almost every class. He likes super outgoing students, so SIT IN THE FRONT. He tells everyone "speak up!" "I can't hear you" constantly, makes it hard to participate then harshly grades participation. Lectures are summary of chapters, repetitive. JUST SHOW UP AND YOU WILL BE FINE. This class is not difficult as long as you participate in class and show up for daily attendance. He is a nice guy, as you show interest in what he is teaching. Every week we had a quiz based on the last chapter we read and it is open note and at home, basically just homework. Our mid-term and final were the same thing, only he was more strict with grading the final. We had a group project, but we were graded on our presenation and not the project itself. Easiest professor. All quizzes are online and open note. Grade is determined by one simulation project. You don't have to do good on the simulation, you just have to have a good presentation. Easy A. Durant wants everyone to do well, and half the time he cancels class or lectures super quickly and lets you out early. Class consists of weekly quizzes (online, not lockdown), a group project, and an easy exam. He is lazy and it is boring, but it's very light and easy. Great professor who knows his stuff and has an infectious personality. I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of his lectures. The class is merely matching deep thinking common sense and buzzwords. Graded by a few things for sure. Rob makes this class very easy. There's no taste, but there are home (non lockdown) quizzes on each chapter. Professor Durant is one of the most unprofessional professor I've had during my time in Northeastern. He doesn't explain the concepts well in class and seems uninterested in teaching. Thought this would be an easy class at first, but he quickly became passive aggressive as people did not participate/slacked off. Instead of correcting this, he would give very low grades on the few graded assignments (THE CLASS HIGH WOULD BE UNDER 90). It's hard to imagine how anyone could've ended with an A. Honestly he was a very lazy professor. He was funny at first, but his lectures are so boring. No one participates and instead of trying to fix the issue, he just has the kids present the slides to each other. Also he doesn't hold students accountable in group projects.
